SEO SOLVE - Search Engine Optimization Solved |

SEO Mastery |
Let's solve this SEO initiative. Through collective knowledge and wisdom we can solve this ever changing dilemma about search engine optimization. There are a few things that we need to take into consideration when we are talking about search engines. We need to know how they work and why they work the way they do. The search engines work by collecting different types of data by data mining files such as .html, .php, .asp, .aspx, .pdf. and a long list that we can touch upon later from websites. The search engines then store a cached version in part or whole on their servers so when a query is typed in any of the browser portals from search engines like Google, Yahoo, Live/MSN, Dogpile or any other SE's for that matter results are then contrived from algorithmic methods by either a computer, human or both that search out the results from data gathered from the Internet or World Wide Web. An algorithm is basically a set of finite rules for calculating and data processing the subject and object query. Now that we know how and why they work they way they do, the next question is how can they work for me. Well, most of us are on the Internet to either provide a service, learn about something, be part of some social group. Again, the list goes on and keeps morphing into various subsets that are never ending, so use your imagination. |

| SEO 101 |
So, let's start with how do I optimize my website? Well first you should have a good domain name that is relative to your business or search terms that a user from a search engine will type in to see their results populated on their computer screen. For those of you who do not know how to research key words there are several tools on the market that are very useful for researching keywords from different search engines and your competition. After that you need to have a good web host which there are many out there to choose from. Some web hosts have site builders that automatically have page tools where you can create pages and instantaneously publish your pages to the World Wide Web/Internet. Other web hosts give you full control and let you use programs like Microsoft Front Page, Dreamweaver, etc. to create your own pages and then use an FTP program that's built in internally to the software or you have to use a third party program to transfer the files to your web hosts server.

| SEO and Meta Tags |
Next you need good meta tags within the code of your pages. This is where most people and businesses fail and miss the mark big time. After the domain name, he meta tags are the first thing the search engine look for on your web site and pages. Meta tags usually consist of a Title, a Description, a set of Keywords, a Robot command telling the search engine robots to index and follow your sites pages, a Copyright tag stating the owner of the content, an Author tag giving credit to the writer or writers of the content, a Revisit tag telling the search engines to come back and visit your site after certain daily increments. There are other tags that you can view on this site that will go into greater detail about the subject but for now this will sufffice.

| SEO and Content |
Next we can address content. You definitely need good content to support your website and search engine rankings. No content means no traffic, well at least most of the time but we can address that later. We suggest you do great research when developing your website so you can plenty of content. I am sure you have heard the saying "Content is King". A good rule of thumb is do not write the content strictly for search engines, but use a hybrid form keeping in mind that you do need to throw in a keyword ior keyword phrase every once in while. Don't over do it, just be conscience of the fact when your writing your copy. Each page that you write should correlate with your meta tags and all of your meta tags and content should be different on every page but can definitely be similar.

| SEO Link Strategies |
Now let's talk about different types of linking strategies. The first link strategy we'll talk about is one way links because these are definitely the best and when you really think about it, it all boils down to common sense. Think about each link as a vote for your website by the Internet community. More links equals more votes, equals more traffic from search engines and other websites from their visitors as well. Other linking methods are reciprocal links, they just mean that if I give you a link on my domain, you give me a link back on the same domain that I exchanged links with. Reciprocal linking is good if the sites are somewhat related and you have some sort of automated tools that constantly check your links on the pages that the webmaster you exchanged links with resides. Another common practice of link building is 3 way linking. This is a good idea if the webmaster your exchanging links with has some integrity. It's very easy for a webmaster or an SEO firm to exchange links with you and when you exchange links with them you put their link on one of your pages and they put your link on one of their satellite sites and it is one big link farm or they take the site down or link down days, weeks or months later. This 3 way linking method works with 3 domain names. The reciprocal linking strategy works with 2 domains. Of course, the 1 way linking program just works with 1 domain, meaning your link goes on their site only. Within these strategies there is what is called hyper text links or anchor text. Anchor text or hyperlinks are when the keyword or keyword phrase is sometimes underlined, animated and when clicked on it goes to the domain that those words or word that was clicked upon resided.
